Welcome Earthside, Connor | Baltimore, MD Birth Photographer

I was at a play date when I got a text. “They said I’m 5cm, can I hang out at your house in case I go into active labor?” Just 24 hours before, Amanda and I went to get our nails done, and then there we were. I hurried home to wait for my friend. We walked around my neighborhood for a bit while waiting for her family. She’s been my best girlfriend since moving to Crofton, but they recently moved back to her hometown just a few miles north of Baltimore. When I say recently, I mean 2 weeks before her due date. They kept all their prenatal care in the Annapolis area, which I’m glad she did because I got to bare witness to Connor’s arrival. We planned for her to do early labor at my house, and plans went accordingly.

What followed was a post-dinner trip to the hospital, and three hours of walking up and down the hall. During what seem would be a long night, Amanda’s mom and sister ventured for a quick 5 minute trip to grab some coffee. Amanda stood up shortly after they went on their coffee run, and she announced that it feels like she’s wanting to push. During that small window, 3 pushes, Connor was born, and momma got to catch him. When Connor came out and they announced his weight, we all collectively yelped “WHAT?” and Amanda demanded he be weighed again. It was a beautiful birth. It was a sight to watch my friends welcome their little boy who’s so wanted and so loved! Thank you, Amanda and Wes for allowing me to be there, and continuing to photograph your family!
